Chiropractic Care

Adjusting table

If you’re new to chiropractic care, you might be wondering what it’s all about. While this form of natural care is often associated with back and neck pain relief, it does so much more.

Chiropractic care focuses on treating a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions through specific techniques that improve joint movement and muscle function while helping reduce pain. It’s a natural, hands-on approach that can make a big difference in how your body feels and functions.

Our Approach

Our practice combines active care, injury relief, and maintenance or wellness care. We specialize in musculoskeletal conditions related to the spine and extremities. As a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician®, we also handle athletic injuries, extremity conditions, and concussion evaluation and management. Our goal is to provide comprehensive care tailored to your needs.

Benefits of Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is and always will be a natural healthcare profession in which we utilize hands-on techniques to improve the body’s ability to function and heal itself. “We rely on our extensive knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the human body to give your body its best chance to be pain-free and move better,” said Dr. T.J.

Here are some primary benefits of this form of natural health care:

  • Improved Flexibility: Regular adjustments can help enhance your range of motion, making everyday activities easier.
  • Better Function: When your joints and muscles work properly, your whole body functions better.
  • Pain Relief: Chiropractic care is effective in reducing pain, whether it’s from a sports injury, an accident, or everyday stress.

We use a combination of low force, drop table, and traditional chiropractic adjustment techniques to provide the best care for our patients. Our specific techniques include:

  • Activator and ArthroStim (Instrument): These are gentle, precise instruments used for adjustments.
  • Thompson Technique (Drop Table): This method uses a special table that drops slightly to facilitate the adjustment.
  • Traditional HVLA Adjustments: These high-velocity, low-amplitude thrusts realign the spine.
  • Soft Tissue Release Techniques: These methods include soft tissue massage, Graston Technique, cupping therapy, electric muscle stimulation, and dry needling to help reduce muscle tension and dysfunction.

We can address a variety of conditions, including:

  • Low back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Neuropathy
  • Disc injuries
  • Neck pain
  • Whiplash
  • Concussions

Your First Visit

If you’ve never had chiropractic care before, you may wonder if it’s safe and if it will be uncomfortable. Rest assured that chiropractic techniques are safe and effective treatments to help reduce pain. The amount of pressure or force used to perform a chiropractic adjustment is minimal, and Dr. T.J. is trained to use minimal pressure to accomplish improvement in joint and soft tissue movement.

Your first visit with us will be thorough and detailed. We start with a consultation that lasts about 45-60 minutes, including paperwork and vitals. Then, we focus on your specific complaints, conduct extensive hands-on testing, and provide the appropriate treatment.

Initially, depending on the severity of your condition, we might see you 4-6 times over the first 2-3 weeks. After these visits, we reassess and adjust your treatment plan. Our goal is to transition you to less frequent visits as you improve, eventually moving to maintenance care as needed.
